Spanning the 19 and 20 centuries the book sketches the lives of Einstein, the greatest physicist since Newton, Kekule who opened the door to structural chemistry, Pavlov who made psychology an experimental science, Fleming the discoverer of penicillin, Thomas H Morgan who pioneered genetics and Christiaan Barnard who made the first heart transplant, and of similar great personages.
